Further up north to Nawalakanda is where you find the Horton Plains National Park and Peak Wilderness sanctuary. Both are filled with wild life and natural habitat that will open up your mind and hearts to the wilderness of the wild. Peak wilderness Sanctuary is the third largest Sanctuary in Sri Lanka out of 50 and ‘Sri Pada’ Peak wilderness isa tropical rain forest that spans across around 224 square kilometers. On the other hand Horton Plains National Park is a protected area in the central highlands of Sri Lanka and runs a range of mountains of pure grassland and dense forest. It is at an altitude of 2,100-2,300 meters from sea level and home for diversified species. It is worth the visit.
